Fundraising and donating

Donate online now -
If you use eBay to buy or sell unwanted items, did you know we have a Charity Profile page?
You can either donate a percentage of the proceeds to our Charity when selling your items, or you can just make an online donation to help the cats of £5, £10, £25, £50 or other amount.
We receive 100% of your donations, which are all paid direct to our Charity through eBay’s charitable partner, the PayPal Giving Fund charity.
Pets At Home in Colchester support us as a partner Charity. and if you nominate your VIP Lifelines to go to us we can use these to buy much needed food for our cats and kittens.
Colchester Cat Rescue Charity Shop -
17 Eld Lane,
CO1 1LS
01206 576085

Our Charity Shop is open Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. (Closed on all Bank Holidays and Christmas/Boxing Day.)

Please help us raise funds by bringing in goods for us to sell to raise money for the cats.
The shop may be easily reached from Vineyard St car park, by taking the stairs or lift up Vineyard Steps and turning right into Eld Lane. We are on the right opposite the Colchester Baptist Church.

We do have a loading bay opening from our basement into Vineyard St car park, if you have a large amount to donate, so please call the shop on Col. 576085 so we can give you directions and come down to unload your car. If you are just unloading you do not have to pay for car parking. Please phone us before coming in so that we canmake sure we have someone available.
We take donations of most items (except electrical goods, furniture and videos), so it is a good opportunity to help the cats by clearing out clothing, footwear, bags/cases, china, hardback/paperback books, soft furnishings/linen, toys, board games, jigsaw puzzles, DVDs, CDs, cassette tapes, LPs and singles, kitchenware, unwanted gifts (eg. toiletries, perfume, cosmetics etc), ornaments, glassware, pictures, paintings, mirrors, watches and clocks.
Monthly Standing Orders/Donations/Legacies -
If you would like to help with the running of the Sanctuary, please email or write in for our standing order form.
Under the Gift Aid scheme we can reclaim 28p in every £1 if you are a taxpayer. So many kind people send us donations, but please let us know if you are a taxpayer so that we can send you one of our Gift Aid forms - we reclaim a substantial amount back from HM Revenue and Customs each year!
We have been fortunate enough to be remembered by some supporters in their wills, and these legacies have now enabled us to build an isolation unit to help cats that need to be confined to a pen due to injury, or to be kept isolated from our other residents. Your solicitor may need our Registered Charity number with the Charities Commission, no. 275238.

We no longer run our Sponsor A Cat scheme, as most of the cats were either rehomed, or we lost the last few due to old age after they had lived out their lives with us for many years.

Opening hours:- 10 - 1pm every day (including weekends and Bank Holidays.)
